CA 012 - Pullover azul con trenzas ancha/ Blue Pullover with wide braids

Pullover para niño con trenzas en punto relieve.  Lo trabajé en lana Perlita Gigante color azul y un ganchillo de 3.5 mm.  Se necesitan aproximadamente 150 grs. para la talla 9 a 12 meses.  Si es la primera vez que se trabajan trenzas a crochet, es recomendable utilizar una lana de color claro para poder distinguir los puntos con claridad.  Trabajar en lanas oscuras (azul marino, negro) dificulta un poco el proceso por lo que no lo recomiendo para principiantes.

El patrón estará disponible en mi tienda de Ravelry la primera semana de setiembre.

Cute pullover with two wide braids worked in post stitches.  I used Perlita Gigante (similar to Hayfield Baby Bonus 4 ply) and used a 3.5 mm hook.  You will need approximately 150 grs for a size 9 to 12 months.  If you are working braids for the first time, I would recommend using a yarn in a light color so that stitches are clearly visible.  Working with dark yarns such as navy blue or black, makes it difficult to distinguish stitches, and therefore would not be suitable for beginners.

Gorrito Básico Varigado - Basic Variegated Beannie

Patrones modificados / Modified patterns

Esta vez trabajé un lindo cardigan para bebé adaptado de "Baby It's Cold Outside" por Doris Fones.  Me encantó el punto utilizado y la abotonadura me pareció sumamente original.  Opté por simplicar las mangas utilizando simplemente punto alto.

Cute baby girl cardigan adapted from "Baby It's Cold Outside" by Doris Fones. I loved the stitch pattern and the original closures. Changed the stitch pattern for the sleeves because I needed a "simple" look.

Zapatitos bordados - Receta / Embroidered baby shoes - Pattern

Hola!!!! Acá va finalmente, la receta del zapatito bordado.  Estos están tejidos con lana bebe y ganchillo 3.00 mm.   Se comienza con una suela básica siguiendo el diagrama de abajo.  Rematar y esconder los hilos.

Hi!! Finally, here is the pattern for the embroidered baby shoe.  This one is crocheted with baby weight yarn and a 3.00 mm crochet hook.  Begin with sole, following diagram below. Tie off, cut thread and hide ends.

Contando 11 pts .a partir del centro del talón de la suelita, unir la lana nuevamente a la suelita, tomando el puntoalto  alrededor de adelante hacia atrás. (ver posición del marcador en la foto)

Counting 11 sts from center of back, rejoin yarn to sole, taking stitch around post.  (See position of marker in photo below)

Levantar 3 cadenetas y tejer pto. alto a todo el rededor. Cerrar la vuelta con pe.  Levantar 3 cadenetas (No voltear el trabajo! Estas vueltas van trabajadas en redondo)

Ch 3, and dc all around .Join row with a sl st., ch3  (Do NOT turn.  These rows are worked on the round)
Tejer otra vuelta de pto. alto . Cerrar vuelta con pe, levantar 3 cad. .

Make another dc round.  Join row with sl st., ch3.  .

Hacer 14 disminuciones de2 pa. para formar la capellada,  Continuar tejiendo pto. alto hasta completar la vuelta.  Cerrar vuelta con pe, levantar 2 cad.

Make 13  2dc decreases to shape toe.  Continue with dc to end of row. Join row with sl st., ch2.

Hacer 7 disminuciones de pto alto, 1 medio pto en el sig. pto., y contnuar con ptos. bajos hasta terminar la vuelta.  Cerrar con pe., cortar el hilo y rematar.

Make 7 2dc  decrease, hdc in next st., single crochet in remaining sts to end of round.  Join with sl st., cut thread, weave in ends.


Para el pie derecho, con la capellada hacia la derecha, unir nuevamente la lana al lateral del zapatito más cercano a tu cuerpo, contando 8 ptos desde el centro del talón.  Levantar 3 cad y trabajando en el sentido de las agujas del reloj, trabajar 14 pa.  Terminamos la pulserita trabajando 18pts altos sin cad. de base (Este video demuestra como hacer el pa sin cadena de base, está en inglés pero las imágenes son bien claras  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCm1mnyRCfI )  Si lo prefiere, al terminar los 14 pa iniciales, puede continuar teiendo 21 cadenas y retornar con 18 pa, comenzando el primer pa en la tercera cad a partir del ganchillo.  Una los punto con pto enano y remate.

For the right shoe, with toe facing right, rejoin yarn to side closest to you, counting 8 sts from center back.  Ch 3, and working clockwise, dc in next 14 sts.  Continue strap by working 18 chainless dc.  (This video demonstrates how to work de chainless dc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCm1mnyRCfI )


Para el pie izquierdo, con la capellada hacia la derecha, unir nuevamente la lana al lateral del zapatito más alejado de tu cuerpo, contando 8 puntos desde el centro del talón.  Trabajaremos ahora  en el sentido opuesto a las agujas del reloj los 14 pts altos y continuaremos con la pulserita con 18 pa sin cadena de base.

For the left shoe, with toe facing right, rejoin yarn to side farthest from you, 8 sts from center back.  Ch 3, and working counter clockwise, work a dc in each of next 14sts.  Finish strap by working 18 chainless dc.


Coser los botones y realizar el bordadito de la rosa bouillón si se desea.

Sew on buttons and embroider a bouillon rose if desired.

3KCBWDAY1 - Colour Lovers / Amantes del Color

This is my first time posting in the Knitting and Crochet Blog Week... and today's theme caught me somewhat "of guard"... You see... I do not normally struggle with color selection... my area of "expertise" is newborn and baby clothes and almost always I tend to use baby or pastel colours.... Baby items crocheted in pale blue, white, pearl, or pink always look "cute"... but  even though I do use a splash of color here and there , I´ve been thinking these "safe" combinations are a little "boring" too...

Esta es la primera vez que participo con un post en la Semana de los Blogs de Tejido y Crochet, y el tema de hoy me tomó un poco desprevenida... Como ustedes saben,  mi especialidad son las ropas para bebes, especialmente  recién nacidos y por lo general tejo en colores típicos para bebés... celeste, rosado, blanco, crema y algun que otro color "pastel".... Los artículos para bebé tejidos en estos colores siempre se ven "tiernos", y a pesar de que a veces agrego toques de color aquí y allá, últimamente estas combinaciones me parecen algo aburridas....

So I decided to start experimenting a little with brighter colors for baby items and recently bought a stash of colorful yarn.  I have since been "leafing" through several magazines and web pages and found lots of interesting combinations that I think look wonderful for babies clothes.   I´ll let you know how it goes and post pictures of the items made with this new color combinations.

Es por eso que recientemente compré un par de docenas de madejas con colores más vibrantes para realizar mis prendas de bebé.  Para inspirarme revisé varias revistas y páginas en la web y he encontrado gran variedad de combinaciones super coloridas e interesantes para bebes... Les dejaré saber qué tal me fue y como siempre, colocaré las fotos de las prendas que realice con esta nueva paleta de colores...

Yet another square yoke baby jacket.  The stitch used for the bodice creates two very different sides.  Choose the one you like better.  Many possible color combinations make thisjacket suitable for boys and girls alike.

CR014 - Bolerito blanco a crochet para bebe con borde en contraste / White crochet bolero for baby with contrasting trim

Me encantó tejer este bolerito blanco... es un modelo sencillo de hacer y se ve muy dulce y romántico.
Se trabaja a partir de un canesú redondo y está hecho todo en hileras de punto alto con un "bobo" de abanicos muy fáciles.  Para darle un toque de color lo terminé con una vuelta en pb en un color contrastante.  La gorrita a juego es tambien toda en punto alto y como toque final le agregue una simple rosa de crochet.

I enjoyed crocheting this little "bolero"... it is very simple and looks cute and romantic.  The pattern is based on a basic round yoke worked in dc with a "ruffle" at the bottom made with shell stitches.  To add a little color I crocheted a sc row in a contrasting color.  The matching beannie is also a basic round pattern with the addition of a crocheted rose in contrasting yarn.

Me encantan los modelos de Alice Fowler y siempre que tengo oportunidad tejo alguna de sus creaciones porque tienen un encanto especial, delicado, antiguo... y me sirven de inspiración para mis propios diseños...
Así que aquí va mi versión del modelo 1254.

Nuevamente tejiendo para bebe!!! / Finally crocheting for babies again!!!

Han sido muchas semanas dedicadas al tejido de los sachets.... pero finalmente los terminé.... y ahora puedo dedicarme nuevamente a diseñar y  tejer para bebé....  Este será un conjunto completo con pantaloneta y zapatitos pero no quería demorarme más en mostrarles la chaqueta y la vincha (tiara)...  Los patrones los estaré compartiendo pronto.

It´s been quite a while since I crocheted for babies, but I finally finished the 120 sachets and am back doing what I like the most... designing and crocheting for babies... This is supposed to be a complete set with pantaloons and booties, but I just couldn't wait to show you the jacket and headband...

I'll be posting the patterns for the jacket soon...

Here's the Yoke Pattern I promised you!!!

I finally finihsed writing down the instructions for this "two tone" square yoke pattern"... bodice instructions coming soon.

White and Sea Green Square Yoke (Size 0/3 months)

Materials

Light  baby weight yarn or 2 strands of light cotton thread  (#20 or #10) held together

Approximately 50 g. of main color and remnants of second color.

2.75 mm  (US C) crochet hook

 (Bulkier yarn and bigger hook would make a bigger size)

Abbreviations used 

Ch = Chain

st = stitch

sc =  Single crochet

dc = Double crochet

SCInc = Simple corner increase  (dc, ch1, dc in same st.)

sp = space

sk = skip

Ch 70 + 3 to turn.

1^st Row:  dc in 4 chain from crochet, dc in next 9 sts. , 2 dc in next stitch, ch1, 2dc in next stitch,  (double corner increase made), dc in next 10 sts., 2dc in next stitch, ch 1, 2 dc in next st.,  dc in next 20 sts., 2dc in next st., ch 1, 2 dc in next st., dc in next 10 stitches, 2dc in next st., ch1, 2dc in next stitch, dc in remaining 10 sts.  Ch3, turn.   (70dc)

2^nd Row: dc in each stitch up to ch1 space.  *(dc, ch1, dc) in corner ch1 space, (simple corner increase made), dc in each st up to next ch1 space.  Repeat from * to end of row.  Change yarn color if desired. Ch3, turn.

3^rd Row:  Sk first dc, dc in next st, dc in stitch that was skipped.  *skip 1 dc, dc in next stitch, dc in st that was skipped,.  Repeat from * to ch1 space, make a simple increase in the ch1 space,  repeat from * to the next corner, make a simple increase… continue in this manner till end of row.  Change yarn color.  Ch3, turn.

4^th Row:  *dc in ever dc  from the previous row  up to ch1 space,  simple corner increase in ch1 space. Repeat from *to end of row.  Ch3, turn.

5^th Row:  Same as row 4

6^th Row:  Same as row 4.  Change yarn color at the end of this row if desired.

7^th Row:  Same as row 2.

8^th Row:  *sc in every dc from the previous row up to ch1 space, sc, ch1, sc in ch1 corner space, repeat from * to end of row.  Change yarn color . Ch 3, turn.

9^th, 10^th and 11^th Row:  Same as row 4.  Change color at the end of row 11, Ch 3, turn.

12^th and 13^th Row:  Same as rows 7 and 8. Change color at the end of row 8.

14^th, 15^th and 16^th Row:  Same as Row 4.  Change color at the end of row 16, Ch 3, turn

17^th Row:  Same as row 7.

18^th  Row.  *sc in every dc up to ch1 sp., skip sts that belong to the shoulder, ch3, sc in next ch1 sp, repeat from * to end of row. Chain 2, turn

19th Row: (Base to begin the bodice - increments are done to increase fullness)  Hdc in next 3 sts, *2hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts., 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 3 sts., continue with sequence up to end of row ...

Celebrating the fact that we have reached 100 followers I'm sharing with you my newest pattern.  This is done in acrylic thread (the thickness of this thread is similar to a fine baby weight yarn)  I used a 2.75 mm crochet (US Size  C), and the finished measurements correspond to a 3 month old baby.

Estos son dos de los baberitos que hice recientemente.... Se tejen muy rápido y son lindos para regalar.
El triangular es un modelo propio y el de la derecha es adaptación de un patrón que encontré en Internet.
Postearé los patrones en breve, pero si alguien los necesita con urgencia, no duden en avisarme.

These are two of the baby bibs I've been working on.   They crochet up really fast and make wonderful gifts.
The one on the left is my own creation and the one on the right is adapted from a pattern I found on the Internet.  I'll be posting the patterns for the bibs soon.

Otro baberito / Another baby bib

Otra versión de baberito... delicado y encantador.  Tomé la receta de una revista que tengo hace mucho tiempo, pero tuve que hacer varias adaptaciones, porque mi hilo y crochet  no coincidían con los sugeridos en la receta.  Se teje en tres partes.

• Primero se realiza el peto o parte central.  Yo comencé con una cadeneta de 26+3 para volver, tejí 12 pa, un aumento de (pa, 2 cad, pa) en el sgte. pto, y terminé la hilera con 13 pa. Continué tejiendo en punto alto por 12 vueltas más, haciendo un aumento al centro de cada vuelta. Corte el hilo y bordee los laterales y parte baja del peto con una vuelta de pb.
• A continuación, hice dos vueltas de punto secreto (ponto segredo, salomon´s knot, nudo salomón, punto loco)
• Luego añadí 27 cadenetas a cada lado para crear los laterales del cuellito. Tejí las cadenetas iniciales en pa y continué bordeando el punto secreto con puntos bajos y cadenetas , luego hice una vuelta de punto bajo a todo el rededor, una vuelta de punto alto, otra vuelta de pasacintas, vuelta de punto bajo y finalmente dos vueltas más de punto secreto.  Terminé por bordear todo con punto "piquitos"

Here is another baby bib.... charming and delicate, this bib was taken form an old magazine.  I had to make some alterations because I din´t have the thread or crochet suggested in the original pattern.

• Begin with 26ch + 3 to turn. Start by crocheting 12 dc beginning on the 3 ch from hook, make an increase (dc, ch, dc) in the next st., and finish the row with 13dc.  Continue with 12 more rows of dc, making and increase at the center of each row.  Cut thread.  Join new thread at top of side and make a row of sc on the sides and bottom of this "front part".
• Now make 2 rows of solomon´s knot.  Cut thread.
• With new piece of thread add 27 ch to each side of front to create the "sides" of the bib.  Dc on the 27 chains,  continue with 2sc in center of solomon´s knot and 3chains in between.  Finish row with dc on remaining chains.
• Make a row of sc, a row of dc, then an "eyelet" row,  another row in sc, and finally two rows of solomon´s knot.
• Edge the entire bib with a "picot stitch"

I finally came around to translating the pattern for this basic baby jacket with overlapping front.
Made from very fine baby yarn, although fine cotton thread could also be used.
I used a 2.25 mm crochet (US B/1)
