I finally finihsed writing down the instructions for this "two tone" square yoke pattern"... bodice instructions coming soon.
White and Sea Green Square Yoke (Size 0/3 months)
Materials
Light baby weight yarn or 2 strands of light cotton thread (#20 or #10) held together
Approximately 50 g. of main color and remnants of second color.
2.75 mm (US C) crochet hook
(Bulkier yarn and bigger hook would make a bigger size)
Abbreviations used
Ch = Chain
st = stitch
sc = Single crochet
dc = Double crochet
SCInc = Simple corner increase (dc, ch1, dc in same st.)
sp = space
sk = skip
Ch 70 + 3 to turn.
1st Row: dc in 4 chain from crochet, dc in next 9 sts. , 2 dc in next stitch, ch1, 2dc in next stitch, (double corner increase made), dc in next 10 sts., 2dc in next stitch, ch 1, 2 dc in next st., dc in next 20 sts., 2dc in next st., ch 1, 2 dc in next st., dc in next 10 stitches, 2dc in next st., ch1, 2dc in next stitch, dc in remaining 10 sts. Ch3, turn. (70dc)
2nd Row: dc in each stitch up to ch1 space. *(dc, ch1, dc) in corner ch1 space, (simple corner increase made), dc in each st up to next ch1 space. Repeat from * to end of row. Change yarn color if desired. Ch3, turn.
3rd Row: Sk first dc, dc in next st, dc in stitch that was skipped. *skip 1 dc, dc in next stitch, dc in st that was skipped,. Repeat from * to ch1 space, make a simple increase in the ch1 space, repeat from * to the next corner, make a simple increase… continue in this manner till end of row. Change yarn color. Ch3, turn.
4th Row: *dc in ever dc from the previous row up to ch1 space, simple corner increase in ch1 space. Repeat from *to end of row. Ch3, turn.
5th Row: Same as row 4
6th Row: Same as row 4. Change yarn color at the end of this row if desired.
7th Row: Same as row 2.
8th Row: *sc in every dc from the previous row up to ch1 space, sc, ch1, sc in ch1 corner space, repeat from * to end of row. Change yarn color . Ch 3, turn.
9th, 10th and 11th Row: Same as row 4. Change color at the end of row 11, Ch 3, turn.
12th and 13th Row: Same as rows 7 and 8. Change color at the end of row 8.
14th, 15th and 16th Row: Same as Row 4. Change color at the end of row 16, Ch 3, turn
17th Row: Same as row 7.
18th Row. *sc in every dc up to ch1 sp., skip sts that belong to the shoulder, ch3, sc in next ch1 sp, repeat from * to end of row. Chain 2, turn
19th Row: (Base to begin the bodice - increments are done to increase fullness) Hdc in next 3 sts, *2hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts., 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 3 sts., continue with sequence up to end of row ...
