Nuevamente tejiendo para bebe!!! / Finally crocheting for babies again!!!

Han sido muchas semanas dedicadas al tejido de los sachets.... pero finalmente los terminé.... y ahora puedo dedicarme nuevamente a diseñar y  tejer para bebé....  Este será un conjunto completo con pantaloneta y zapatitos pero no quería demorarme más en mostrarles la chaqueta y la vincha (tiara)...  Los patrones los estaré compartiendo pronto.

It´s been quite a while since I crocheted for babies, but I finally finished the 120 sachets and am back doing what I like the most... designing and crocheting for babies... This is supposed to be a complete set with pantaloons and booties, but I just couldn't wait to show you the jacket and headband...

I'll be posting the patterns for the jacket soon...

 Hola!!! Pensé en compartir con ustedes el esquema de mis sachets de lavanda...
El sachet se compone de tres partes:  la base, la tapa y la flor que se cose a la tapa (por lo que debemos dejarle unos centímetros de hilo al terminar de tejerla para luego poder unirla con el mismo hilo a la tapa)
Los símbolos rojos en el esquema marcan el final de cada hilera... Espero se entienda y les sirva.
No puse esquema de la flor porque es una flor simple de ocho pétalos...  en la primera vuelta de pétalos hice 1mp,3pa,1mp para cada pétalo y en la segunda vuelta 1mp, 5pa, 1mp para cada pétalo...
Si tienen alguna problema, no duden en preguntar...

HI! Thought I would share the graphs for my Lavender Sachets...
Each sachet is made up of a base, a top and a flower... the flower is sewn to the top, so leave a tail of a few inches to be able to sew the flower using the same thread.
Red symbols in the graphs indicate the end of each row.
There is no graph for the flower because I simply modified a pattern I found on the internet... for the first row of petals I used 1hdc,3dc,1hdc, and for the second row 1hdc, 5dc, 1hdc....
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask..

Sachets de Lavanda a crochet / Crochet Lavender Sachets

 Estos son los sachets que estoy haciendo por encargo que me tienen tan ocupada... la presentación es en cajitas de 3 sachets...

These are the lavender sachets I am making... they take up most of my time these days... they are to be presented in boxes of 3 sachets....

Y tengo que hacer 40 cajas..... 120 sachets.... 240 tapitas....  120 florecitas centrales....Uffffff.......
And I have to make 40 boxes!!!!.... 120 sachets.... 240 sides...  120 center flowers...

Pero ya falta poco y nuevamente a crear cositas lindas para bebes....
But.... I have only a few dozen more to go and then back to creating beautiful baby clothes...

Como para una princesa / Fit for a Princess

Este es el otro modelo de zapatito con el que estuve trabajando.... La receta original en ruso así que hice una "interpretación libre" y este es el resultado...  Qué les parece?
Ahora de regreso a tejer mis "sachets"....


This is the other bootie I worked on these days.. The original pattern was in Russian... so I  made a sort of  "free interpretation" of the pattern and this is the result.... What do you think???
Now, back to working on my sachet order...

Para un pequeño rey / For a little King

No posteo hace mucho porque tengo una encomienda grande de sachets para perfumar el ropero... tengo que hacer muuuuchoooosss... y eso me tiene algo alejada del blog...  Pero en estos días una amiga de la web me pidió ayuda descifrando el patrón de unos zapatitos.... y este es el resultado... La receta original no es mía... yo le hice algunas variaciones para que tomara la forma que vemos aquí... Está trabajado en punto alto 1/1 (punto alto en relieve por delante/punto alto en relieve por detras)   Si alguien quiere el patrón modificado, me avisa.  Espero les guste

Haven't posted in a while because I am crocheting a huge number of sachets for a friend of mine... Working on the sachets has kept me away from the blog....But, recently a friend from the web asked for my help "deciphering" a couple of bootie patterns... and this is the result of one of them... The original pattern comes from a magazine in Portuguese... I had to change the original instructions to get the bootie to look like this...It is made of a combination of front post dc and back post dc.   If any one needs the "modified" instructions, please let me know.  Hope you like it.

En rosado - Chaqutita a crochet / In Pink - Crochet baby jacket

Otra versión de chambrita con canesú redondo, utilizando el punto cruzado 2x1 de las prendas anteriores.   Esta vez se combinó con hileras de punto alto y pasacintas. en el canesú y las manguitas.  El punto del faldón es el mismo que se utilizó en la chaquetita azul con blanco del post anterior.

Another version of a round yoke baby sweater, using the 2x1 crossover dc stitch used in the previous jacket, this time in combination with double crochet and eyelet rows .  The stitch used in the bodice is the same as the one used in the light blue and white jacket.

Abrigadita chaquetita para recién nacido a dos colores....  Canesú redondo con punto alto cruzado y un punto abrigadito para el faldón.  Está tejida con tres hebras de lana de dralón delgada para invierno y un ganchillo 3.5mm.


Patrón Gratuito Celeste y Blanco para Bebé


Warm newborn baby jacket in two colors...  It is made with three strands of fine dralon yarn (for machine knitting) and a 3.5mm hook. It has  a round yoke with details in crossed dc stitch, and a very close woven stitch for the skirt.

Light Blue and White for Baby - Free Pattern

Chaquetita Blanca Canesú Cuadrado 222 / Square Yoke White Baby Sweater 222

Linda chaquetita de canesú cuadrado básico.  Se puede adaptar a cualquier tamaño.  Se empieza con un número par de cadenas que sea apropiado a la circunferencia del  cuellito.

Puntos utilizados:
cad - cadeneta
pa - punto alto
Aumento 222 - 2pa, 2cad y 2pa tejidos en el mismo pto. de base.
Punto V - 1pa,1 cad, 1 pa tejidos en el mismo pto. de base.
Punto Conchita - 2 pa tejidos en el mismo pto de base

 En este caso, para una chambrita talla 3 meses, tejiendo con lana bebe y gancho 3.75 comencé con 58 cad + 3cad para volver.

This is another square yoke baby jacket I've designed....  for a 3 month old baby, I used baby weight yarn, and a 3.75 mm hook (aprox US D).
It is a very basic "square" yoke, achieved by making the corners on a 222 basis (meaning 2dc,2ch,2dc in the same space to make the increases that form the corners)

Chaquetita CR Cruzado 2x1 / Round Yoke Jacket 2x1 Crossover stitch

Suave chaquetita tejida con lana bebé y aguja 3.5 mm (US E/4), con canesú redondo simple en pa y el detalle del punto cruzado 2x1.

Saquito Palo Rosa y Blanco / Mauve and White Baby Sacque

Recientemente conocí a Martha.  Ella teje también para caridad y me pidió que le ayudara con un proyecto de ayuda en Huancayo (en la sierra central del Perú)....   Así que me puse a tejer algunas "chompitas" para bebés...
Esta tiene canesú cuadrado  y está tejida con lana "Sedita" y crochet 4.75mm
Quedó bien gruesita y súper abrigadora.


 I recently  met Martha.  She is a very nice lady who knits for charity and she asked me if I could crochet a few items to help with a charity in Huancayo (central sierra of Perú)...  This is the firs sacque I came up with... It is made with a simple square yoke.  I used a very "silky" sports weight yarn and a 4.75 mm hook.
It turned out very thick and warm.

Manta Squares multicolor /Multicolor Squares Blanket

Esta vez utilicé varios colores en la creación de mi manta pues  no tenía suficiente lana del mismo color para hacerla.   Son cuadrado de aprox. 19 x 19 cms.  Los tejí con gancho US Size J (6.00 mm)  sobre una base de 20 cadenas e intercalando hileras de punto alto y punto cruzado.  Cada cuadrado se terminó con una vuelta de punto bajo alrededor de todo el cuadrado.    Para unir los cuadros utilicé punto bajo y lana blanca, uniendo los cuadros primero formando tiras, y luego uniendo las 4 tiras que lo conforman.
Como terminación hice una vuelta de punto bajo alrededor de la manta seguido de 4 vueltas de punto Salomón o punto secreto.

I needed a blanket for my charity project and since there wasn't enough yarn of the same color I decided to make squares in pink, light blue and white.  The finished squares measure aproximately 7.5 x 7.5 inches.  Using 4ply yarn and a US Sise J (6.00 mm) hook, over a ch 20 base, I combined rows of dc and rows of X stitch.  The squares are finished with a sc row around the square.  I joined 5 squares using single crochet to form a strip, and then joined the strips to one another.  As a finishing I went around the blanket with a row of single crochet and 4 rows of Lover's Knot or Solomon's Knot Stitch.

Manta celeste con detalles blancos / Light blue blanket with white accents

• Continuando con las mantas simples, esta nueva manta está hecha de una sola pieza con lana celeste.  Monté 90 puntos con lana gruesa y gancho US size I  ó 5 mm y tejí una combinación de vueltas así:  
• vuelta de punto bajo, 
• vuelta de punto X, 
• vuelta de punto bajo, 
• otra vuelta de punto X, 
• vuelta de punto bajo, 
• vuelta de punto entero, 
• vuelta de 2 puntos bajos y 1 punto "bolita" de 4 lazadas, 
• vuelta de punto bajo, 
• vuelta de punto entero, 
• vuelta de punto bajo 

Volver a comenzar  la secuencia y repetirla hasta obtener el largo deseado.  Luego comenzamos con los acentos en blanco.  Tejí una hilera de punto bajo sobrepuesto entre cada "franja" creada con la repetición de la serie de vueltas (entre las dos vueltas de punto bajo que se generan entre una franja y la otra)Finalmente hice una vuelta de punto bajo a todo el rededor de la manta y luego una vuelta de punto cangrejo.

Continuing with my simple baby blankets, here is one crocheted in one piece with ligth blue DK yarn and a US Size I crochet hook.  I started with a 90ch, and continued stitiching a combination of the following rows:

• row in sc
• row in X stitch
• rox in sc
• row in X stitch
• row in dc
• row combining 2sc and a 4 loop "puff" stitch
• row in sc
• row in dc
• row in sc

Start with the series of rows again and again until desired length is achieved.

Finally begin with the white accents by stitching a row of white sc between the 2 sc crochet rows separating the series.  Stitch a row of sc around the blanket, followed by a row of "backstitch".

Your blanket is finished!!  Hope you enjoy making it!!

Manta bebe en dos tonos / Two tone baby blanket

Esta manta de bebe la tejí basándome en un modelo de Mary Maxim (por Julia Shumaker)  Usé lana en dos tonos de celeste y aguja US H -7

This blanket was made following Mary Maxim pattern by Julia Shumaker.   I reduced the number of beginning chains to 151 and used a bigger size crochet  (US H - 7) than the required by the original pattern.

Manta Rápida / Quick Baby Blanket

Una manta pequeña, fácil y rápida de tejer, perfecta para el cochecito del bebe. Está hecha con lana D' Primera Angel (de la marca Coats) y trabajada con un ganchillo de 7.00 mm
Medidas aprox. manta terminada:  77 x 95 cms.
Puntos empleados:
pa - punto alto
cad - cadena
abanicos - 3 pa en el mismo punto base
pto V. - 1pa,1cad,1pa en el mismo punto base
punto X - Saltar un pto, trabajar pa en el sig. pto, trabajar pa en el pto que acabamos de saltar

Montamos una cadena base (yo trabajé sobre 81 cadenas)

• Trabajamos 1pa, 1cad, 1en la 5a cad. a partir del ganchillo, *saltamos 2 cad base y trabajamos nuevamente 1pa, 1cad., 1 pa en la sig. cad., repetimos desde * hasta terminar la vuelta con 1 pa.  Levantar 3 cad. y volver.
• Trabajar *3 pa en el primer espacio de cad., trabajar 1pa, 1cad, 1pa, en el sig. espacio de cad., repetir la secuencia hasta terminar la hilera con pa.  Levantar 3 cad volver.
• Repetir la vuelta anterior trabajando los abanicos (3pa) sobre cada espacio de cad. de la vuelta anterior, y los ptos V (1pa,cad,1pa), sobre el pa central de cada abanico de la vuelta anterior.  Levantar 3 cad., volver.  Continuar trabajando todas las vueltas de la misma manera hasta obtener el largo deseado.

Bordes

• Para trabajar los bordes hice una vuelta de medio punto a todo el rededor de la manta, trabajando 3 mp en cada esquina.
• Trabajar una vuelta en punto X ( Saltar un pto, trabajar pa en el sig. pto, trabajar pa en el pto que acabamos de saltar)  Al llegar a las esquinas trabajar 3 punto X .
• Trabajar arcos de 5 cad y 1pb entre cada punto X de la vuelta anterior.
• *Trabajar abanicos de 4 pa un arco de cad., trabajar 1pb en el sig. arco.  Repetir desde * hasta llegar a la esquina.  En la esquina trabajar un abanico de 7 pa.  Continuar la secuencia hasta terminar la vuelta. Rematar.

ENGLISH VERSION

A small blanket, easy and quick to crochet,  it is ideal for the stroller.   Crocheted with 4 ply yarn and a 6.00  or 7.mm  crochet hook  (US Size J/10 or slightly larger)

Aprox. measurements:  77 x 95 cms  (30 x 37 inches)

Stitches used:

dc – double crochet

ch – chain

fan – 3 dc in same st

V stitch – 1dc,1ch,1dc in same st

X  stitch – Skip a st., work a dc in next st., go back to sk st and work another dc

Work a base chain (I made 81)

• Work a V st on the 5^th ch from hook. Sk 2 ch and work another V st, continue in this manner till end of row.  Work 1dc in last st. Chain 3 and turn.

• Repeat previous row, working fan stitches over ch spaces, and V stitches over central stitch of fans from previous row.   Chain 3, turn.
• Continue working as in last row till desired length is achieved.

Edging

• Fort he edging I worked a row of hdc all around the blanket, working 3 hdc in each corner. Ch 3.
• Work next row in X stitch.  Work 3 X stitches very closely in each corner (do not skip stitches as you normally would for the second and third X st you’ll work in the corners)
• Work a row of 5ch arches, anchoring each with a sc between X sts.  from the previous row.
• *Work 4 dc fans in first arch., 1 sc in next arch.  Repeat from * till corner.  Work a 7dc fan in each corner.  Continue sequence to end row.  Fasten off.  Cut thread.  Hide ends.  Enjoy!!!.

Manta de Cuadros Terminada / I finished the Squares Blanket

Les muestro la manta terminada....!!!!
Salieron varios pequeños proyectos que retrasaron un poco este trabajo, pero finalmente la terminé.  Espero les guste el resultado.

Manta de Cuadrados / Squares Blanket

Hola!!!!  Empecé a unir los cuadros y éste es el resultado hasta el momento....
Más adelante pondré el esquema de cómo los combine.... en principio uní las primeras 5 muestras en forma indistinta y de ahí en adelante las uní en el mismo orden, simplemente "corriendo" la primera muestra para el final...de manera que cada "fila" de cuadros comienza con una muestra diferente y continúa con las demás muestras en el orden de la primera fila... Una vez completadas las filas de 5 muestras las uno horizontalmente.  Utilicé punto bajo y lana en color contrastante para  unir las muestras....  ahora me falta terminar de unir todos los cuadros y hacer un lindo borde... Nos vemos!!!

Hi!!! I already started joining the squares for my blanket and this is how it looks so far...
I'll be posting a scheme for the square placement shortly, but basically what I did was join each of the first 5 samples in the order I liked the most... from then onward, I joined the next 5 square strip keeping the order of the original strip with the exception of the first square which was joined as the last...  I kept doing this so that the first square in each row is a different pattern and the same sample squares are joined diagonally...
Once the strips are made.. join the strips horizontally... I used a contrasting yarn and joined with a sc.
I still have to finish joining my strips and decide on a border for this blanket....   See you later!

Último Cuadrado para la Manta / Last Square for the Blanket

La última muestra que elegí es ésta... que tiene la apariencia de rombos o diamantes...   Se obtiene combinando vueltas de punto bajo con vueltas en las que se alternan puntos altos y puntos altos en relieve por delante.  Se trabaja con rápido y el efecto terminado es acolchadito y abrigado.

The last sample stitch I chose was this one that resembles diamonds...  The effect is achieved by combining rows of sc and a row alternating dc and fpdc.  It is easily done, works up fast and gives a very soft, cuddly effect.

Cuadro Punto Bodoque / Bobble Stitch Square

Este es el cuarto modelo de cuadrado que formará parte de la manta.  En este caso se trata de una combinación de vueltas en punto alto y vueltas en punto bajo y punto bodoque (ponto pipoca).  Para ver un video demostrando el punto Bodoque haga click aquí

Estamos de vuelta... ahora con el tercer modelo de cuadrado que usaremos para la manta... Esta vez es un punto canasta (cesta) o Basketweave...  Trabajé igualmente con 42 pa de base, pero en este caso yo utilicé una aguja de 5.00 mm (US H/8) porque tiendo a tejer más ajustado cuando hago puntos en relieve como en este caso.  Verifique la tensión y decida el tamaño de ganchillo más apropiado para seguir obteniendo cuadros de 25 x 25 cms.

We're back...now with the third square pattern for our blanket... This time I chose a basketweave stitch.  This is done using a combination of Front Post and Back Post double crochet.  I started with 42 chainless double crochet (as with the previuos squares), but in this case, after mounting the first row of stitches I switched to a bigger hook (I used a US size H/8 or 5.00 mm. crochet hook), because I tend to crochet tighter when doing front post or back post stitches.  Verify your gauge and decide on the appropriate hook size to obtain the desired square size (25 x 25 cms.)

Cable Stitch Square / Cuadro de Cables

Aquí está la gráfica para el segundo cuadro.  Este está compuesto de unos cables cruzados realizados en pa en relieve por delante .  En este caso el espaciado entre cables es de 2 pa, pero podrían ser 3, 4 ó 5, dependiendo del gusto de cada uno.  

Como con el primer cuadro, los 42 puntos iniciales son puntos altos falsos.  Visita el blog de Sonia María donde encontrarás explicaciones detalladas de cómo realizar este punto.

Si planeas hacer una manta con estos cuadros, recuerda chequear la tensión y comenzar todos los cuadros con el mismo número de puntos.  Si fuera necesario utiliza un ganchillo de mayor o menor tamaño.

Here's the graph for the second square.  This one has several rows of cables made up with front post dc stitches.  In this case, the spacing between the cables is 2, but you could choose any number of dc to put in between the cables.  

As with the first square, the base row  for this one are chainless double crochet stitches.  I started the square with 42 stitches.

If you are planning to make a blanket out of these squares, remember to check your gauge and start with the same number of stitches each time.  If necessary switch to a bigger or smaller hook so that all squares match in size.

Cuadrado punto X / Cross Stitch Square

Aquí está el primer cuadrado y sus instrucciones.  Está hecho con lana de grosor medio y ganchillo 4.25mm. Yo comencé con una base de 42 puntos altos falsos (ponto alto falso).   En el patrón (haz click en el link al final de este post) encontrarás un link para un video que demuestra cómo hacer estos puntos iniciales y aunque está en inglés las imágenes son muy claras, o visita el blog de Sonia Maria donde también encontrarás una explicación de como realizar este punto .

Here's the first square and its pattern.  I used DK yarn and a 4.25mm crochet hook (US size G/6).  I started with 42 chainless double crochet stitches.  In the pattern( click on link at end of this posting) you will find a link for a video demonstrating how the chainless double crochet is done.

El colegio de mis hijos ha organizado un "concurso" de tejido para ayudar a los damnificados del terremoto en Japón.  Son muchas las personas que carecen de abrigo y la meta es enviar la mayor cantidad de mantas tejidas.  Como no todos pueden tejer una manta (por restricciones de tiempo o habilidad) han pedido cuadrados de 25x25cms.

Yo quiero hacer la manta completa.. ésta se compone de 25 cuadros.... así que decidí tejer 5 motivos diferentes.  Ya llevo cuatro modelos (los que aparecen en esta foto) y me faltaría uno más por crear...

Iré compartiendo con ustedes los gráficos de cada cuadrado por si tienen interés en hacer algo parecido y luego les mostraré la manta terminada...

My kid's school is organizing a kind of  knitting and crochet "contest" to benefit the people of Japan that suffered great loses with the recent earthquake.  The goal is to provide them with warm blankets and since not everybody has the skill or time necessary to make a blanket they are requesting 25x25cm squares.

I want to do a whole blanket (which is to be composed of 25 squares)... so I decided to make 5 different square patterns and then combine them into a blanket.   I've already decided on the first 4 patterns (the ones on the picture above)... only one more to go...

I'll be sharing the instructions and graphs for these squares shortly, should you wish to make some  of them..

Here's the Yoke Pattern I promised you!!!

I finally finihsed writing down the instructions for this "two tone" square yoke pattern"... bodice instructions coming soon.

White and Sea Green Square Yoke (Size 0/3 months)

Materials

Light  baby weight yarn or 2 strands of light cotton thread  (#20 or #10) held together

Approximately 50 g. of main color and remnants of second color.

2.75 mm  (US C) crochet hook

 (Bulkier yarn and bigger hook would make a bigger size)

Abbreviations used 

Ch = Chain

st = stitch

sc =  Single crochet

dc = Double crochet

SCInc = Simple corner increase  (dc, ch1, dc in same st.)

sp = space

sk = skip

Ch 70 + 3 to turn.

1^st Row:  dc in 4 chain from crochet, dc in next 9 sts. , 2 dc in next stitch, ch1, 2dc in next stitch,  (double corner increase made), dc in next 10 sts., 2dc in next stitch, ch 1, 2 dc in next st.,  dc in next 20 sts., 2dc in next st., ch 1, 2 dc in next st., dc in next 10 stitches, 2dc in next st., ch1, 2dc in next stitch, dc in remaining 10 sts.  Ch3, turn.   (70dc)

2^nd Row: dc in each stitch up to ch1 space.  *(dc, ch1, dc) in corner ch1 space, (simple corner increase made), dc in each st up to next ch1 space.  Repeat from * to end of row.  Change yarn color if desired. Ch3, turn.

3^rd Row:  Sk first dc, dc in next st, dc in stitch that was skipped.  *skip 1 dc, dc in next stitch, dc in st that was skipped,.  Repeat from * to ch1 space, make a simple increase in the ch1 space,  repeat from * to the next corner, make a simple increase… continue in this manner till end of row.  Change yarn color.  Ch3, turn.

4^th Row:  *dc in ever dc  from the previous row  up to ch1 space,  simple corner increase in ch1 space. Repeat from *to end of row.  Ch3, turn.

5^th Row:  Same as row 4

6^th Row:  Same as row 4.  Change yarn color at the end of this row if desired.

7^th Row:  Same as row 2.

8^th Row:  *sc in every dc from the previous row up to ch1 space, sc, ch1, sc in ch1 corner space, repeat from * to end of row.  Change yarn color . Ch 3, turn.

9^th, 10^th and 11^th Row:  Same as row 4.  Change color at the end of row 11, Ch 3, turn.

12^th and 13^th Row:  Same as rows 7 and 8. Change color at the end of row 8.

14^th, 15^th and 16^th Row:  Same as Row 4.  Change color at the end of row 16, Ch 3, turn

17^th Row:  Same as row 7.

18^th  Row.  *sc in every dc up to ch1 sp., skip sts that belong to the shoulder, ch3, sc in next ch1 sp, repeat from * to end of row. Chain 2, turn

19th Row: (Base to begin the bodice - increments are done to increase fullness)  Hdc in next 3 sts, *2hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 2 sts., 2 hdc in next st., hdc in next 3 sts., continue with sequence up to end of row ...

Celebrating the fact that we have reached 100 followers I'm sharing with you my newest pattern.  This is done in acrylic thread (the thickness of this thread is similar to a fine baby weight yarn)  I used a 2.75 mm crochet (US Size  C), and the finished measurements correspond to a 3 month old baby.
