Tejiendo con encajes / Crocheting with lace

Una lana finita, un ganchillo delgado y la tira de encaje que elijas le dará un toque diferente a tus creaciones a ganchillo.   La inserción de encaje en los trabajos les da una apariencia delicada y elegante.  En muchas labores de punto las tiras de encaje se "cosen" al tejido, como se hace con las prendas de tela, pero en el caso del crochet, podemos "tejerlas" con el ganchillo, tomando los agujeritos del encaje como punto de base, de manera que estén unidas directamente al tejido.  

A delicate yarn, a fine hook and the lace of your choice will give your crochet creations a whole different look.  Crochet insertions give crocheted garments a delicate and elegant look.  In knitting, lace ribbon is usually "sewn" to the knitted sections of the garment, much as it is done when sewing lace to fabric, but with crocheted garments, lace can be joined to the rest of the garment by "crocheting" directly  into the lace, using the tiny holes in the edges as you would use the base stitches from a previous row.

En el caso específico de esta chaquetita, se trabajan las tiras de encaje por ambos lados con puntos altos, formando así las piezas que luego uniremos para armar la chaquetita.

For this particular jacket, the lace tape is worked on both sides with double crochet stitches, creating the pieces that we will later use to assemble the jacket.

Las piezas se unen por medio de un zigzag de cadenetas y puntos bajos.

Once the pieces are made, they are joined to one another with a zigzag made of chains and sc stitches.

Luego de unidas las piezas se procede a trabajar la pretina y dar un acabado limpio al cuerpo de la prenda, para luego coser las manguitas y añadir los detalles finales

Once the pieces are joined, work a ribbing of your choice and "clean" the edges to sew on the sleeves.  Additional details such as ribbons and edgings may also be used to add interest to the piece

CA010 - Otras versiones del cuello Smocking / Versions of the Smocked Collard Jacket

Aquí otro ejemplo de las posibilidades que nos ofrece el  método de construcción con cuello smocking.  En este caso trabajamos con hilo delgado y ganchillo 2.5mm,  utilizamos un punto diamante en relieve y tejimos con un solo color en sentido vertical, es decir, de la cintura hacia arriba..

Here is another example of the multiple posibilities we have with the smocking collared pattern layout.  In this case we selected a fine thread and a 2.5mm hook, a diamond stitch is used, and the jacket is worked from the waist up.

Para la versión en marrón, utilizamos lana acrílica apropiada para un ganchillo 3.5 mm.  El panel principal de esta chaqueta está tejido de lado a lado, es decir, empezando por el borde del frente derecho, y terminando en el frente opuesto. Para crear las sisas se retoman puntos trabajando nuevas cadenetas.

For the brown version, we used acrylic yarn suitable for a 3.5 mm hook.  The main panel is worked from side to side, beginning with the left front and ending on the opposite side.  Armholes are worked by adding chains.

Como se muestra en el esquema, el cuerpo de este tipo de chaquetas se trabaja en 3 partes:
1.-  Trabajamos el panel principal del cuerpo.  Este puede trabajarse a lo largo  (de lado a lado, empezando por uno de los frentes, pasando por la espalda y terminando en el frente opuesto), o en sentido horizontal, a lo ancho(comenzando por la cintura y terminando en los hombros)
2.- A continuación se trabaja la pretina  y
3.- Finalmente se trabaja el panel que forma las bandas de ojales y botones y el cuellito smocking.

As the graph shows, the bodice for this type of jacket is worked in three steps:
1.- Work the main bodice panel.  This can be done lengthwise  (from side to side, beginning with left front, going through th eback and ending on opposite front) or horizontally, (working from the wais up)
2.- We then add the ribbing, and
3.- Finally the panel that forms the band for buttonholes, buttons and smocking collar is worked.

Este tipo de patrón es muy versátil pues puede ser adaptado fácilmente a cualquier talla, tipo de hilo o lana y grosor de ganchillo que se desee.

This is a very versatile pattern that can easily be adapted to any size, hook width and type of yarn desired.

CA 013 Chaquetita cuello smocking tricolor / Tricoloured Smocking Collared Jacket

Esta es una variación del método de construcción que les presenté hace ya algún tiempo, de chaquetita con cuello tipo "Smocking" (CA010 Chaqutita Cuello Smocking)

En esta oportunidad  trabajé con lana super fina y el punto utilizado, en lugar de ser en relieve como el modelo original, es un matizado combinando 3 tonos:  crema, camel y marrón , con una combinación de puntos muy sencilla:  punto bajo y cadenetas!!!

This is a variation of a construction method I presented in the blog last year of a Smocking Collared baby Jacket (CA010 Chaqutita Cuello Smocking)

This one is worked in a super fine baby yarn, and instead of a raised monochrome stitch, I decided to use a 3 color combination pattern with cream, camel and brown yarns. The pattern stitch consists of a simple combination of single crochet and chain stitches.
