Punto Misterioso 2 / Mistery Stitch 2

Aquí está el paso a paso para el segundo Punto Misterioso.  La base que utilizamos es la misma que para el Punto Misterioso 1, la diferencia radica en la posición en que se "bordan" el primer y último grupo de lazadas que formarán nuestras "hojitas".  Al igual que en el Punto Misterioso 1, la base de filet puede realizarse en punto alto o medio punto dependiendo del efecto que se quiera lograr.  En la foto de abajo,ambas muestras están tranajadas con el mismo hilo y tamaño de ganchillo, pero la muestra de la izquierda está trabajada con medio punto, mientras que en  la de la derecha utilizamos punto alto.

Here is the step by step for the second variation of the Mistery Stitch.    We use the same "filet" base as for the first variation, the only difference being the position in which we "embroider" the first and last set of loops.  that create our "leaves". As for the Mistery Stitch 1, the filet base used can be worked in double crochet or half double crochet depending on the desired appearance. 
 In the picture below, both samples are worked using the same yarn and hook size, but the sample on the left is worked on a hdc base (rounder appearance), while the sample on the right uses a dc base.

Comenzamos trabajando las 3 vueltas de base filet en mp o pa según se desea.  

Begin by working the three rows for the filet base (instructions on previous blog) using either double crochet or half double crochet

 Trabajamos ahora dos cadenas (o 3) para dar la altura, mp en el sgte. pto y 2 mp en el pto sgte.   Levantamos 2 cadenetas.
Work 2 chains (or 3 if working with dc) to turn, hdc in next stitch, 2hdc in next. Ch2

En ese mismo punto introducimos el ganchillo para comenzar con el primer grupo de lazadas, tomamos lazada, estiramos, tomamos otra lazada y volvemos a insertar el ganchillo en el mismo punto.  Realizamos esta operación de 3 a 4 veces según el efecto que se desee.
Insert hook in same stitch as last hdc, yo, pull lightly to desired length, yo, reinsert hook in same space, repeat once or twice more depending on desired effect..

 Ahora insertamos el ganchillo en el espacio a la izquierda y una línea más abajo del que trabajamos con anterioridad, repetimos las lazadas...
Now, insert the hook one space to the left and row down from the previous stitch, yo, pull up loop to desired length, repeat twice more..

 Para el tercer bloque, introducimos el ganchillo en el cuadradito a la izquierda y una vuelta más abajo, como muestra la foto..
Begin the third group of loops one row below and one space to the left of the previous group..

 Para el cuarto bloque de lazadas introducimos el ganchillo un espacio a la izquierda y una vuelta más arriba del grupo recién trabajado..
For the fourth loop, go one space to the left and one row up..

 Finalmente, el último grupo de lazadas, se "borda" un espacio a la izquierda y en la última vuelta del trabajo. Tomamos una última lazada y cerramos todos los puntos juntos.
For the last group, insert hook one space to the left and work in the top row...  Once you complete all the groups, yo, and pull through all loops on hook at once.

 Levantamos 2 cadenetas y trabajamos 3 mp en el mismo espacio donde realizamos el último grupo de lazadas.

Chain 2, and work 3 dc in same space as last group of loops

 Levantamos 2 cadenas más y comenzamos a trabajar la siguiente hojita.  El primer grupo de lazadas irá en el mismo espacio en el que hemos trabajado los mp.  Continuamos trabajando las hojitas hasta terminar la vuelta levantando 2 cad después de la última hojita, 2 mp en el pto sgte. y 1mp  en cada uno de los dos últimos ptos. según se muestra en el gráfico

Ch 2, and begin working next "leaf".  To work the first group of loops insert hook in space last worked.  Continue working this pattern to the end of the row.  Finish with ch, 2 dc in next st, and 1dc in each of last 2 sts.  (Refer to the graphic below)

Punto Misterioso 1 / Mistery Stitch 1

Como les prometí en el blog anterior, paso a explicarles cómo realicé esta primera versión del Punto Misterioso.  Este punto puede trabajarse sobre una base de filet de medio punto o punto alto según se desee obtener hojitas más redondeadas o más alargaditas.  También dependerá del ganchillo y el hilo utilizado.  Para ganchillos pequeños (2.00 y menores), recomiendo usar la base de mp y para ganchillos y lanas más gruesas (del 3.5 en adelante) recomiendo utilizar la base de punto alto.

La muestra de las fotos se trabajó con un crochet 2.00 mm y dos hebras de lana extra fina.

As promised, here are the steps I used to create the first version of the Mistery Stitch.  This stitch can be worked over a filet base of dc or hdc, depending on the look you want to achieve, hdc for  rounder, chunkier leaves, or dc for a more elongated, stylized look.  This decision will also depend on the type of yarn and crochet hook used.  For smaller hooks (2.00mm and smaller) go for a hdc base, if using larger hooks (3.5mm) or chunkier yarns, go for a dc base.

The swatch in these pictures was worked using a 2.00 mm hook and 2 strands of extra fine baby weight yarn. 

Se comienza sobre una base de cadenetas múltiplo de 8 + 5 (si trabajs en medio punto o media vareta) ó +6 (si trabajas en punto alto, vareta o punto entero).   Por ejemplo, si trabajarás con mp y deseas tener 10 motivos de hojas, harás una cadeneta de 80 + 5 cadenetas adicionales.  Y trabajamos tres vueltas, siguiendo este esquema:

We will begin by stitching the crochet base as shown in the graphs below, beginning with a base chain multiple of 8 + 5 (if working hdc) or 8 + 6 (if working a dc base)

Al final de la tercera vuelta, cambiamos de color de lana y comenzamos  con  el "bordado" de las hojas en la 4ta. vuelta.  Se trabajan 5 grupos de anillas para formar cada hoja. Trabaje 4 pb (hasta llegar al segundo espacio de cad). Aquí trabajaremos el primer grupo de anillas.  Tome lazada e inserte el ganchillo en este punto, estire ligeramente la anilla, tome otra lazada y vuelva a insertar el ganchillo en el mismo punto, repita una tercera vez.  Repita el mismo proceso con los 4 grupos de anillas restantes tomando las fotografias como referencia y cuidando de estirar las anillas al largo deseado con firmeza.

Change yarn color at the end of the third row, to begin "embroidering" the leaves in the 4th row. 5 groups of loops are required to complete each leaf. Work 4 sc (up to and including the second ch1 space). We will work the first group of loops here.  Yo, insert hook in this space, pull up a loop and tug gently to lengthen the loop slightly, yo, insert hook in same space, pull up loop, repeat once more.   Proceed in the same way for the remaining 4 groups of loops, inserting hook as shown in the pictures.  Be sure to pull the loops gently but firmly to the desired length.

Una vez que tenga los 5 grupos de anillas trabajados, tome una lazada y cierre todas las anillas juntas.
When all groups are completed, yo and pull through all loops in hook.

Asegure con una cadeneta.
Work a ch, 

Trabaje un pb en el mismo punto y en los 3 ptos sgtes.  La siguiente hojita comenzará en este punto

sc in st used for last group of loops and in the next 3 sts..  Next leaf will begin at this point.

Continúe trabajando las hojitas hasta completar la vuelta.  Termine la vuelta con ptos. bajos en los últimos 4 ptos. Levante 2 ó 3 cad (dependiendo si trabaja la base con mp ó  pa) y vuelva.

Conitnue working the leaves in this manner to end of row. Finish row with sc in last 4 sts.  Ch2 or 3 (2 if working in hdc, 3 if working in dc), and turn.

Comenzaremos nuevamente con la base de filet, para ello trabaje  mp (o punto alto) en cada uno de los 3 ptos. sgtes,* trabaje 2 mp (ó 2 pa) en el espacio anterior al cierre de los pétalos y 2 más en el espacio posterior, continúe trabajando 1 mp (o pa) en cada uno de los 5 ptos sgtes., repita desde * hasta terminar la vuelta.  Levante 3 cad (si trabaja en mp o 4 cad si trabaja en pa), volver.

Will now start the three filet base rows by working hdc (or dc) in each of the next 3 sts., *work 2 hdc (or 2dc) in the space before the leaf closure, and 2 more in the scpace after, continue working 1 hdc in each of the next 5 sts., repeat from * to end of row.  Ch3 (if working in hdc, or 4 if working in dc) and turn.

Para completar esta última vuelta de la base de filet, *saltar un punto de base, mp (o pa) en el sgte. pto,  levantar 1cad, repetir desde * hasta completar la vuelta.  Cambiar el color de lana en el último punto de esta vuelta para empezar con la siguiente vuelta de hojitas.

To complete the last row of the filet base, *sk 1 st, hdc (or dc) in next st., ch1, repeat from * to end of row.  Change yarn color in last st of this row to begin with next row of leaves..

Continué trabajando de esta manera hasta obtener el largo deseado.

Continue working in this manner till desired length is achieved.

NOTA IMPORTANTE:  Pruebe trabajar con distintos grosores de lana y agujas.  También haga la prueba de hacer un número de anillas mayor (hasta 4 ó 5 anillas por grupo) o menor (hasta 2 anillas) para ver los diferentes efectos que puede obtener.

IMPORTANT:  Try working with different yarn and hook widths.  Also try increasing or decreasing the number of loops per group  (as little as 2 loops - and as many as 5 loops) to achieve different looks.

Punto Misterioso / Mistery Stitch

Recientemente, recibí estas dos fotos, de una amiga de un grupo de crochet al que pertenezco que consultaban si alguien sabía el nombre del punto utilizado en esta colchita y si tenían las instrucciones de cómo realizarlo.... 

Navegando por internet encontré que  la imagen de la mantita celeste pertencía al blog http://lifebabysapatinhos.blogspot.com y luego encontré la versión en verde en un site ruso www.liveinternet.ru/users/tatmel/post204775538/

I recently received these two pictures from a friend in a crochet group I belong to.  She was wondering if anyone new the name and how to of the stitch used in the blanket.   Surfing through the web I found that this image with the white and light blue blanket belonged to http://lifebabysapatinhos.blogspot.com/

and the green and white swatch was featured in a russian site

A primera vista ambos diseños son similares, pero si los miras con detenimiento verás que son dos versiones distintas.  En la manta celeste, las "hojitas"están separadas unas de otras , mientras que en la versión verde las hojitas se "tocan".  Sin embargo, las fotos del "paso a paso" que encontré  eran las mismas en ambas páginas web y no correspondían a ninguna de las dos versiones presentadas en las fotografías.

At first glance, the stitches look the same, but upon closer inspection you'll notice that they are different versions of the same kind of stitch..  In the light blue version, the "leaves" that form the pattern are clearly separated, while in the green version they "touch" each other.  Nevertheless, the "step by step" pictures shown in both websites were the same and did not correspond to either version.

Continuando con la  búsqueda pregunté por el nombre del punto, revisé mis libros y revistas y no encontré información al respecto.... Encontré otro site ruso( http://nadidelieserler.blogspot.com/2010/11/bebek-battaniyesi_27.html ) con una mantita muy colorida hecha en este mismo punto (en la versión de las hojas que se "tocan" entre sí), pero no pude dar ni con el nombre ni con una explicación detallada del punto, así que decidí hacer mi propio paso a paso y un gráfico de cada una de las versiones y denominarlo Punto Misterioso.

Continuing with the search, I made enquiries about the name of the stitch, looked through my books and magazines and found nothing.  I did find another russian site ( nadidelieserler.blogspot.com/2010/11/bebek-battaniyesi_27.html ) featuring a very colorful blanket with the same stitch  (in the "touching" leaves version), but no hint about the name of the stitch, a graph or instructions ... So, I decided to come up with my own "step by step" and graph of both versions, and while I find out the real name I'll call it Mistery Stitch

Pretty baby jacket worked with very fine baby yarn or cotton thread and a 2.5mm hook.  The bodice is worked from the yoke down in one piece.  The scalloped collar (which is optional) is very simple to make and is worked at the end.
